speed
Distance traveled over a certain amount of time. Can be calculated by using the formula S=d/t
Ex: The car is moving at 35 mph (miles per hour).
velocity
The speed of an object in a given direction.
Ex: The car is going 55 mph north.
Acceleration
Any change in velocity. This can include a change in speed and/or direction.
Ex: The car slowed to a stop.
